Planning your installation

Choosing the surface

Nakymatone speakers work with standard drywall (gypsum board) at any finish level — including Level 5 — as well as plaster, wallpaper, laminates, leather, and thin wood panels. The finish coat has no meaningful effect on sound quality provided any added layer stays within 1/16 inch (approximately 1.5 mm) of the speaker's bonding surface. Very thick masonry walls, and surfaces backed by dense insulation, are not suitable. If you are unsure about your construction type, speak to your dealer before ordering rather than after the wall is closed.

Framing, cavities and wiring

Every Nakymatone invisible model includes an integrated back box, so there is no separate enclosure to fit inside the cavity and no minimum air volume to design around. The unit mounts between existing studs or joists without cutting through or removing any structural member. Where depth is tight — wafer condo walls, shallow ceilings, trussing systems — the Naky fits spaces as narrow as 8⅜ inches and only 57 mm deep.

The speakers are passive and work with any standard amplifier or A/V receiver; no proprietary electronics are required. Run speaker cable to each location before the surface is closed. For multi-zone and commercial distributed audio, the Zero-Ohm product family connects any number of speakers in parallel without transformers and tolerates long cable runs without impedance or power-distribution concerns.

New construction or retrofit

Both routes work. In new construction the unit is mounted to the framing before drywall is hung, wire is run, and the surface is finished over the top — the simplest sequence by a wide margin. Retrofit installation requires cutting an access opening, mounting the unit from behind the existing drywall, and patching the surface. If the building schedule is ahead of the specification, the Pre-Mount Kit lets you fix the speaker location during rough-in and choose the final model later; all invisible models share the same footprint.

Finishing, aftercare and warranty

Once the speaker surface is flush with the finished wall it can be painted, papered or refinished with the rest of the room, and repeated redecoration over the years causes no harm. We recommend installation by an authorised dealer or a qualified A/V integrator, particularly on multi-room systems: the electrical work suits any licensed electrician or A/V technician, and the patching step calls for standard drywall finishing skills. Every Nakymatone invisible speaker carries a ten-year replacement warranty that includes a labour credit, so a failure behind a finished surface is covered rather than becoming your problem.
